How did you find your way into a career in the staffing industry / with ALTRES?
My staffing career began right out of college. I absolutely love to meet and talk with new people – so I knew from the beginning that this was the perfect job for me. After about a year in the industry, I went to Florida for corporate training which really helped me set a good, solid foundation for my career. With 5 years of industry experience, I made the move to ALTRES – the best decision I ever made!
What is your role at ALTRES? Describe a typical day on the job.
As a Placement Manager in the Industrial Division, I build relationships with our clients and candidates every day. A typical day on the job consists of a multitude of competing priorities, which range from interviewing, hiring, and placing applicants on the job.
What qualities or skills are essential to be a successful Personnel Manager?
To be a successful Placement Manager, you must be able to listen and find out what is important to the client and the candidate. Every day is an opportunity to put our corporate core values into action by investing in relationships, building trust, and reaching higher by going above and beyond expectations. I genuinely care about people and know that everything I do has an impact on people’s lives and the community at large, I’ve found it invaluable to be able to put myself in another person’s shoes. Whether I’m interviewing an applicant, recruiting for a client, or negotiating hiring terms – I always think about how I would like to be treated in every situation.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
