When Mana Up launched in 2017, their founders Meli James and Brittny Heyd were the only two employees. As their business grew and they began hiring more employees, more of their time was being spent on administrative tasks like tracking payroll hours, researching competitive employee benefits and staying up to date on the rapidly changing business and compliance requirements. The volume of human resources related tasks was unmanageable and took them away from their mission: Helping Hawaiʻi companies become global companies.
