Specialty Pharmacy Patient Care Assistant

A local pharmacy is looking for a Patient Care Assistant to help process Specialty Pharmacy orders. In this role, you will assist with all facets of patient care from initiation of therapy, assessing drug and supply usage, picking and packing orders, and maintaining supply stock levels.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Location

Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$18 to $20 an hour

Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients regarding usage of medications, supplies and other related aspects of therapy.
• Inform Pharmacy staff of any patients who stop or discontinue therapy.
• Produce prescription labels and delivery tickets with patient’s prescriptions and supplies.
• Pick and pack orders based on delivery requests.
• Adjudicate claims correctly and timely when applicable by insurance type.
• Make sure all generated delivery tickets are returned to be confirmed timely and accurately.
• Maintain stock levels and order supplies under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2 years of college in the medical field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a pharmacy, hospital, or other medical setting preferred.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.
• Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
