In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of mechanical components involved in treating wastewater to meet environmental and regulatory standards.
Qualified candidates will have 8 years of previous experience, their professional engineer's license, and be knowledgeable with industry standards, codes, and regulations related to wastewater treatment.

$65,000 to $130,000 a yearResponsibilities
- Design and optimize mechanical systems and equipment within wastewater treatment facilities, including pumps, valves, pipelines, screens, and other mechanical components.
- Integrate mechanical designs into overall wastewater treatment plant layouts and processes.
- Ensure mechanical systems meet performance standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Investigate and diagnose mechanical failures or inefficiencies.
- Evaluate, select, and procure mechanical equipment and machinery for wastewater treatment facilities.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and startup of mechanical systems.
- Schedule repairs, replacements, and upgrades of mechanical components.
- Ensure all mechanical systems and equipment comply with relevant environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure seamless integration and coordination of mechanical systems with overall wastewater treatment processes.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on mechanical engineering matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Four-year college degree in engineering or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of previous experience.
- Must have a Professional Engineer's (PE) license.
- Knowledgeable with industry standards, codes, and regulations related to wastewater treatment and mechanical engineering.
- Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks as deadlines and priorities change.
- Team player with ability to work effectively with different departments and personalities a plus.
- Motivated, dependable, trustworthy.
