Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Delivering direct care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with daily activities like bathing and dressing.
• Medical Procedures: Carrying out routine procedures such as wound care, catheter insertion, and blood sampling.
• Patient Monitoring: Observing and documenting changes in patient conditions and reporting to the supervising RN or physician.
• Documentation: Keeping accurate and current patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
• Assisting with Treatments: Aiding in diagnostic tests, preparing patients for exams, and supporting minor surgical procedures.
• Patient Education: Informing patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and self-care.
• Collaboration: Working with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement care plans.
• Safety and Hygiene: Maintaining a clean and safe environment, following infection control practices, and managing medical supplies.
• Emotional Support: Offering comfort and reassurance to patients and their families, addressing concerns.
• Emergency Response: Handling medical emergencies, performing basic life support (BLS) and CPR as needed.
• Administrative Tasks: Managing scheduling, patient records, and coordination of care with other providers.

Qualifications

• Current Hawaii LPN license.
• Must have at least 6 months of acute care experience.
• Current BLS.
