Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bilingual Property Manager fluent in both Japanese and English to manage a diverse portfolio of properties. This position involves handling tenant relations, coordinating maintenance, overseeing financial performance, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in property oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Manage rent collections, payment of expenses, and tracking of financial activity for assigned properties.
  • Supervise staff, contractors, and third-party service providers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Coordinate tenant communications, including screening applicants, lease preparation, and responding to inquiries.
  • Arrange maintenance services, schedule repairs, and oversee vendor relationships.
  • Conduct routine property evaluations to ensure upkeep and identify potential concerns.
  • Address tenant issues and resolve conflicts in a professional and timely manner.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable housing regulations and safety standards.
  • Facilitate lease renewals, move-in/move-out processes, and eviction procedures when necessary.
  • Provide periodic updates to property owners regarding occupancy, maintenance, and financial matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Active real estate license required.
  • Previous experience in property management or related real estate field.
  • Previous experience working with international clients is a plus.
  • Proficiency in both Japanese and English (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in property management systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of local property regulations and compliance standards preferred.
  • Knowledge of property-related financial processes and recordkeeping.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to handle tenant concerns and resolve issues effectively.
