A local company is looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to manage key financial functions, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves preparing detailed financial statements, conducting various analysis, and overseeing compliance filings. The role offers a flexible work schedule with the option for hybrid work and occasional overtime may be required.

The ideal candidate will have their bachelor's degree and 3 years of accounting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Generate internal and external financial statements, along with relevant supporting documentation, on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Analyze financial discrepancies and identify variances against budgets, forecasts, and previous periods.
  • Manage the filing of necessary licenses, permits, and other regulatory documents to ensure compliance with local and federal laws.
  • Maintain and oversee financial systems, ensuring data integrity, and producing tailored reports based on internal needs.
  • Assist in compliance initiatives related to anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and other statutory requirements.
  • Support external audits by providing timely and accurate documentation and preparing schedules for review.
  • Recommend and implement procedural enhancements to streamline financial reporting and increase operational efficiency.
  • Supervise and guide outsourced resources assisting with recurring or special projects.
  • Prioritize and execute tasks within set deadlines while ensuring accuracy in all reporting and compliance activities.
  • Prepare detailed financial documentation and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a large-scale organization or public accounting.
  • CPA certification is a plus but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive financial data.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
