Corrections APRN/Family Nurse Practitioner/Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Corrections APRNs, Family Nure Practitioners, and Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioners to jour our healthcare team!

Shifts are based on operational needs, typically falling between 8:00am-9:30pm.

Pay

$71.93 an hour

Responsibilities

• Examine and assess patients for specific interventions.
• Make referrals to medical doctors when necessary.
• Prescribe appropriate medications to patients. 
• Order laboratory and other tests when indicated by abnormalities on the history and physical examination.
• Provide ongoing primary care and/or mental health intervention on adult patients.
• Evaluate ambulatory patients with complaints of illness and specified chronic diseases.
• Report identified communicable diseases to the Department of Health and provide consultation to nursing and correctional staff in matters of infection control.
• Manage rehabilitative medical resources in patient care planning.
• Institute treatment and order appropriate follow-up care.
• Recognize signs of specific diseases and abnormal findings that indicate a disease state.
• Provide informal health teaching and counseling to patients using communication theories and skills.
• Provide formal patient instruction in regular classes for patients with chronic diseases.
• Collaborate with the physician for the treatment and/or disposition and follow-up of patients with complex medical and/or mental health problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current HI APRN & RN license with prescriptive authority in good standing.
• BLS certification and hands on training.
• Active DEA registration and state controlled substance registration.
• Familiarity and comfort with medication assisted treatment/medications for opioid use disorder preferred.
• Board certified - Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner or equivalent.
• Availability to work weekends is preferred.
• Required to work on site.
