Lead Estimator

Seeking an experienced Lead Estimator to prepare detailed project estimates by gathering and analyzing proposals, blueprints, specifications, general labor, materials, and related documents to compute the overall cost of large building projects.

The ideal candidate will have their bachelor's degree, previous work experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.

$80,000 to $100,000 a year

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, and any other documents to gain a deep understanding of building projects.
• Prepare and create an estimate with detailed breakdown for every division and other necessary information essential for key decision makers.
• Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, etc.
• Perform site visits as necessary.
• Oversee the RFP process.
• Create bid list, bid invite, bid form, instruction to bidders.
• Distribute plans, specifications, and any other documents relating to projects.
• Respond to RFIs.
• Collect and quantify bids.
• Perform background checks on new trades.
• Provide bid results, write trade contracts, and purchase materials as needed.
• Maintain unit price database used in preparing cost estimates.
• Maintain bid list database of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Maintain project historical data.
• Collaborate with management, architects, trades, and vendors as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture of construction management with 5 years of work experience; or 9 years of work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Bluebeam.
• Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
• Strong time management, analytical, and organizational skills.
