Bookkeeper

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a local woodworking and cabinetry company in Kona. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of the day-to-day accounting processes.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in bookkeeping and be proficient with Sage accounting software and Microsoft Office. Our client is open to candidates with other finance experience, but bookkeeping experience is preferred.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm

Location

Kailua-Kona, Big Island

Pay

$28 to $30 an hour

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.
• Prepare and complete month-end financial reporting.
• Compile and submit new hire reports.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other financial documents as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in Sage accounting software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and problem-solve.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
