Accounting Specialist

A reputable bank is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their team and assist the busy accounting department with day-to-day duties such as ensuring all transactions are properly processed, performing data entry, and reconciling balances. This is a 3-month position with the possibility to extend and possibly hire.

The ideal candidate will have 3 years of previous accounts payable/accounts receivable experience.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Location

Downtown, Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$30 to $40 an hour

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with disbursement and spending policies.
• Process entries and maintain subsidiary ledgers related to accounts payable.
• Ensure all transactions are properly reflected.
• Maintain records of transactions and prepare required IRS information reports.
• Process entries for corporate cards, reimbursements, travel and other accounts payable related entries.
• Ensure that requests are submitted with proper approvals and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile balances to the general ledger.
• Perform data entry.
• Assist with requests from auditors/examiners.
• Assist in preparing year-end reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma.
• Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of accounts payable/accounts receivable experience.
• Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and problem-solve.
• Ability to pass pre-employment state and federal background check and drug test.
