Lead Facilities Technician

A high-end resort in Kona is looking for an experienced Facilities Technician to lead their team and assist the Facilities Director. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance and operations of the refrigeration and kitchen equipment on property, managing projects and repairs.

Qualified candidates will have at least 5 years of related work experience, an HVAC EPA 608 certification, and the ability to work weekends and holidays.

Pay

$40 an hour, Based on Experience

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all refrigeration, kitchen equipment, ice machines, and AC.
• Teach lower-level techs how to do PM’s on all equipment.
• Coordinate assignment of work order duties with the Office Manager.
• Provide updates on staff performance and work order status at the end of your shift.
• Create PM schedules for all equipment with Director of Engineering/Facilities.
• Contact sub-contractors and/or order parts for repairs as needed.
• Consult with Director of Engineering/Facilities for support and advice (when needed) to ensure proper repair and replacement procedures are followed.
• Advise Director of Engineering/Facilities of all tools and equipment needed by the Facilities Team to perform assigned duties correctly and safely.
• Ensure all equipment is kept clean and well maintained, always.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of facilities/engineering experience preferably in a hospitality setting.
• Previous experience including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and kitchen equipment.
• Must have EPA 608 certification.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be able to speak and read English fluently.
• Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and problem-solve.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 60lbs.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and climb ladders for extended periods of time.
