Gas Utility Laborer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to be a part of large local utility company, helping to ensure the safe and efficient operation of their gas transmission and distribution systems. This is a temporary position with the possibility of a permanent position down the road.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm

Location

Kailua-Kona, Big Island

Pay

$25 an hour

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, relocate, repair, and replace gas transmissions.
• Keep work areas and equipment clean, orderly, and safe.
• Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and practices.
• Execute all tasks effectively, safely, and efficiently.
• Prepare reports as required.
• Maintain current Environmental, Health, and Safety training.
• Promote safe work habits and report any unsafe conditions or acts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and nights, including emergency callouts.
• Proficiency with trade tools and equipment.
• Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Comfortable using respirators when potentially exposed to various levels of gas fumes.
• Capable of working in confined spaces.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Ability to work in a team setting.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
• Ability to pass pre-employment state and federal background check and drug test.
