Senior Planner

A reputable engineering company is seeking a Senior Planner to join their team and be responsible for overseeing and managing various aspects of planning projects, including consulting with clients, monitoring project finances, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Location

Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$75,000 to $170,000 a year

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients and other parties involved to determine project specifications and needs.
• Create graphic designs, development strategies, and render site plans.
• Prepare detailed reports on development proposals for government bodies.
• Prepare environmental impact analyses and conduct field reconnaissance of project sites.
• Prepare and process land use permit applications and filing with governmental agencies. 
• Review development applications.
• Supervise and direct the work of project coordinators, planners, and clerical staff.
• Monitor project financial status.
• Review work product to ensure technical quality and client satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience with land use permit applications and processes.
• Proficiency in graphic design and computer graphics.
• Proficiency in interpreting and applying regulations and codes.
• Knowledge of environmental impact assessments and NEPA requirements.
• Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and teams.
