Medical Billing

Our client is seeking a Medical Billing specialist to join their team and be responsible for all phases of the billing and collection process for patients. In this role you will be responsible for accurately billing patients, submitting claims to insurance companies, and working with patients to set up payment plans.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Location

Aiea, Oahu

Pay

$20 to $22 an hour

Responsibilities

• Print, transmit, sign, and mail claims.
• Ensure claims are received by appropriate third parties.
• Perform the insurance follow-up and the collection function for all financial items.
• Verify claims that are on file and verify payment by calling the insurance companies
• Collect secondary claims and co-payments from patients.
• Handle payer denials including waivers, appeals, rebilling, collection, and the verification process.
• Respond to inquiries and resolve discrepancies with patients and staff related to the accounts receivables.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of medical billing experience required.
• Familiar with electronic medical records.
• Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
